On the 18th July 2009 myself, my son Ricky, his girlfriend Laura and my sister and her partner were invited by Sharon Younger to attend an investigation on behalf of the South West Paranormal Group (SWPG).
We left Swindon at 10pm and followed some of the other guests to RAF Lynham; we were to meet the rest of the group at the White Heart pub. When we arrived we met up with the other guests, Sharon gave a brief explanation on what she does as a medium and what would be involved during the investigation.
Myself and my sister have known Sharon for many years and knew what to expect from her, we were so excited because this was our first investigation. We all left the pub and headed to Braydon Stoke for the nights investigation.
To gain access to the abbey we had to cross several fields to get to our destination, When we finally arrived we all sat down and Sharon began calling out, she said she was aware of a spirit woman called Mary, Sharon also said she felt that May was sad about her supposed affair with a local monk and was upset about being locked up in the tower. Sharon then asked Mary to give us a sign of her presence, myself and a few others from the group witnessed stones being thrown which seemed to be aimed at some of the other members.
While we were looking up towards the tower we could see what looked like a window, we could also see what looked like a figure stood behind it, my son Ricky and my sister’s partner decided to get closer to the tower to investigate.  When they got to the bottom of the tower they could see that there was no window which was strange as several people had seen it, some of the group thought that their eyes were playing tricks on them.
Sharon began to call out and every time she did so it seemed to get brighter within the tower, it was like there was someone up there with a light. It couldn’t have been anyone from the group as we were all together
After a while my sister’s partner began to capture loads of orbs on his camera. We decided to head towards the local cemetery but as we arrived we noticed that there were houses nearby, we didn’t want to disturb the residence so we decided to head to Avebury.
We arrived at Avebury at around 2am, the first thing Sharon said was that she was aware of a spirit man called Tony but felt his real name was Anthony. Sharon said that that he died in the 70s and said that his grave was nearby; we all decided to search for his headstone. My son Ricky finally found the headstone as we were about to leave to cemetery, the name on it was Anthony and the year was 1977.
This was our first ghost hunt and what a fantastic night we had; we can’t wait until the next one.
Thank you for such a great evening.
