In today’s society, the role of the paranormal investigator especially on the Internet has mushroomed to the point of saturation.
South West Paranormal Group is a non-profit making organization.
South West Paranormal Group has been run by Emma and Nick since its inception in 2000
The team is comprised of people from all occupations and beliefs and because of this the South West Paranormal Group is run on a part-time basis.
However, we may be part-time, but our professionalism and client confidentiality is paramount to us.
We not only investigate the "spooky old house on the hill", but also have been called in to investigate pubs, nightclubs. Cinemas, churches, stately homes, shops and of course, private residences.
After initial contact two team members will visit with the client, this is to gain knowledge of the location and the alleged paranormal activity. If the client wishes further investigation we conduct a risk assessment and explain what would be involved while an investigation is taking place. We use both spiritual and scientific means to gain a possible explanation for any phenomena that may occur.
Any information gathered during a pre investigation visit is kept confidential and is not shared with any SWPG members. This is because we prefer our team member to have as little knowledge of the location as possible, that way there are no pre conceived ideas before an investigation has taken place.
All investigators are equipped with a Dictaphone which records throughout the investigation, if any activity occurs we note the time, date, location, and persons present.
All notes and information that is gained is collected at the end of an investigation, these are then sealed in an envelope to avoid any possible tampering. The only persons allowed to see this information are the SWPG founders.
Most of our investigations are carried out at night; this is because the “world at large” is genially quieter, although we have conducted some investigations during the day.
South West Paranormal Group uses a number of tools, such as IR video cameras, 35mm and digital cameras, IR detectors, digital thermometers, which also includes some less hi tech solutions such as talcum powder and common sense. All equipment is explained to our clients before we begin an investigation. We must stress that we do not use Ouija Boards.
While an investigation is being conducted the client can call a halt to the investigation at any time, any experiments that may be carried are only done with the clients permission.
When all data is collected, an investigation report is taken to the client, together with a copy of any photos or video evidence. Along with this we have a post investigation meeting with the client to explain our findings and to answer any questions they may have.
We also have an after investigation package in place, this is so we can keep in contact with our client after we have left the location, this is to ensure that if any more problems arise the client can contact us. On occasion we have been called back to a location, this is only to advise on any problems the client may have.
We do not publish any reports/findings without the client’s full consent
